A client's husband said something about extractions that stuck with me

He asked why we push so hard on blackheads when his wife's skin always looks red after. I've always been taught that's just part of the process, but he made me think maybe we cause more harm than good sometimes. How do you decide when to leave a stubborn one alone?

That "three passes max" rule from @the_betty is so smart. It forces you to see you're just hurting the skin for no real gain. Sometimes the best skill is knowing when to stop.

My old boss had a hard rule about three passes max. If it doesn't budge after that, you're just causing trauma for no real result. Sometimes the skin needs to calm down before you can try again, or you just leave it be. It's a service, not a punishment.

Honestly that three pass rule makes total sense. But what happens when a client gets mad because you stopped? Like they paid for a full service and feel short changed. Do you just explain the skin trauma thing or is there more to it?
