Hot take: my clients are obsessed with glass skin, but their skin barriers are screaming
I've been seeing a lot of women in their late 20s and early 30s coming in with red, angry faces after trying those 7-step Korean routines at home. Over the past 6 months, I've noticed the number of barrier damage cases has nearly tripled at my studio in Austin. Am I the only one who thinks we need to bring back the idea of just cleansing, moisturizing, and sunscreen without all the extra acids and serums?

I used to think the 7-step thing was just extra pampering, but seeing those numbers made me rethink it. Now I just do cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen and my face is way less mad at me.

Oh wow, that's wild about the numbers tripling in just 6 months. But here's what I'm wondering - are these people actually doing full 7-step routines, or are they just slapping on five different actives at once without any breaks? Because I've seen a lot of folks who claim they're doing "Korean skincare" but they're really just mixing random serums from Sephora and calling it a day. Like, are you seeing more damage from the actual multi-step method or from people not giving their skin time to adjust between products?
