Overheard a neighbor say our block party fund is $200 short

I was walking my dog past the community center and caught someone saying we need $200 more for the permits and bounce house rental. Anyone know who's collecting the money or if there's a backup plan if we don't hit the goal?

Oh man, that's rough. I had a buddy in my old neighborhood who was in charge of the block party fund one year and they found out last minute the permit fee was more than they budgeted. He ended up going door to door for three hours on a Tuesday night with a sign-up sheet, and this one cranky guy on the corner wouldn't even open his screen door, just yelled "No soliciting" through it. They pulled it off in the end because the lady two houses down donated the rest from her cookie jar savings, but talk about a headache.
