Rant: Wasted $400 on those fancy "no-seam" shoe pads last spring
I bought a bulk box of those new no-seam pads from a catalog back in March, thinking they'd save me time on hoof prep. Tried them on three horses and every single one had the pad shift within 2 weeks, one even caused a bruise on the sole. I contacted the company and they said I was "applying them wrong" but I followed their video step by step. Has anyone else had this problem with aftermarket pads, or did I just get a bad batch?

Tossed those no-seam pads straight in the trash after my mare did the exact same thing. Applied them bone dry like the video showed, but she sweated and rubbed them loose within a week. What actually worked for me was switching to the old school pre-cut pads with a thin layer of diaper cream on the bottom to stop friction. Also started rolling the edges of the pad before putting it on, keeps it from curling up and catching dirt.

Bought a box of those too. My gelding somehow managed to shift one right off his foot in less than a week, found it in the mud like a gross little Frisbee. The company told me the same thing, but I'm pretty sure my horse just has a talent for rejecting anything that's supposed to stay on. $400 sounds about right for a lesson in how much my horses hate my wallet.
