Question about using a specific silk from a shop in Portland

I bought this beautiful raw silk from a place called The Fabric Vault last month. Tried to make a draped dress, but the material frayed like crazy. Ended up with a mess of threads instead of clean lines. Anyone know a good stabilizer for raw silk that doesn't make it stiff?

Thought starch was the only way until I tried spray starch.

Wait, what's the actual difference you noticed? I'm still using the old school powder and it's such a mess every time. Does the spray really get stuff crisp without leaving any white marks?

So you mean spray starch versus powder, right? Because spray starch is still starch, @jamiem30. The big difference is the spray doesn't clump up in the iron like powder can if you mix it wrong. I get way fewer white streaks with the can.
