Spotted a jacket detail at a bus stop that changed my pattern approach
I was waiting for the 42 bus downtown last Tuesday when I noticed this guy's denim jacket had a curved seam running from the shoulder blade down to the side hem. It made the back fit perfectly without any darts or pleats. Has anyone else tried adding non-structural curve seams to basic patterns for a better fit?

Duly note your tip @vera308 - I once curved a seam so badly it looked like a sad clown smile on my back.

oh yeah the curved seam thing - I did that on a shirt pattern that was gaping at the back. just drew a gentle curve from the shoulder to the side seam and it sat SO much better. no more weird fabric pooling.
