Hot take: that 'just list it for $1 start bid' advice is garbage

My buddy Dave kept telling me to list my old Xbox collection on a penny auction to move it fast. I had like 15 games and a console worth maybe $250. I followed his advice, started everything at $1, and the whole lot went for $47. Never again. Has anyone else had luck selling bundles a different way?

Remember penny auctions have crazy low fees compared to proper listing platforms which screws sellers on niche bundles like yours.

The fees difference is really the whole game with penny auctions, they skim off barely anything compared to the big listing sites. That means sellers like us get hammered when we try to bundle niche items, because the big platforms take a huge cut and then buyers lowball you on top of that. I sold a vintage camera lot on one of those proper sites last year and lost money after fees even though I priced it fair. Penny auctions let you list weird combos without that fear, but then you get less eyes on it overall. It's a trade off for sure, but for weird bundles the low fees win out every time. The bigger sites just aren't built for stuff that doesn't fit into their category boxes.
