Got a burger in St. Louis last week that was somehow still frozen in the middle

I was at a drive-thru off I-44 and ordered their double cheeseburger. When I bit into it, the center was totally cold and hard, like they just threw a frozen patty on the grill for 30 seconds. The cashier just shrugged and said 'sometimes the grill is busy.' Has anyone else had a fast food place just give up on cooking the food all the way?

Ugh, I read a whole article about undercooked fast food last month.

That shrug is the worst part, but like nancy_sanchez said, a broken system makes those mistakes.

That St. Louis spot off I-44 is probably dealing with a broken grill timer or a new trainee. I worked a grill in college and the rush can be unreal, you're just trying to push orders out. A frozen middle is a mistake, but it's not them giving up. It's a system under pressure. They should have offered to remake it, but a shrug is easier when you're eight hours into a minimum wage shift.
