I had to pick between the new spicy chicken sandwich or the classic burger at a drive-thru yesterday. Went with the sandwich and it was a cold, soggy mess.

Ugh, that's the worst kind of letdown. You take a chance on something new and it just completely fails. Always feels like the classic option would have been safe and hot.

Consider the regret itself as a kind of seasoning. It makes the memory of the bad choice sharper, so you really learn the lesson. Next time that safe classic will taste even better.

True though, the real gut punch is when you realize you were actually hungry for that safe classic the whole time (like your brain tricked you into being adventurous).
