My local burger place keeps messing up the 'no onions' request and I finally asked why
The manager told me their new system flags it but the kitchen crew just grabs the pre-made patties anyway. Has anyone else's go-to spot gotten worse with custom orders lately?

Ever think about just asking for the onions on the side? I started doing that at my spot. It forces them to actually see the note because they have to grab a little cup. If they still mess it up, at least you can just toss the cup instead of picking onions off a soggy burger. It's a dumb workaround but it got my orders right.

Oh man, that's the worst. My regular taco place has started doing the same thing with sour cream. They have the note right there on the screen but they just auto-pilot through the assembly line. It feels like they've given up on paying attention to the special instructions box entirely. I've had to start checking the bag in the parking lot like some kind of food inspector.
