Three hours into a backyard fence job in Austin last Thursday and my auger died on the third post hole
It was a rental too, a Toro that I paid $85 for the day. Had to hand dig the last six holes in that rocky Texas clay. Has anyone else had bad luck with Toro augers holding up?

Mine ran all day without a hiccup. Maybe just a lemon rental.

Well that's great yours worked fine, but I've seen way too many complaints about these rentals to just blame it on a lemon. The throttling issues seem pretty widespread from what I've read.
