A lady in a Denver coffee shop asked me about my work boots

I was grabbing a coffee after a long day laying vinyl plank, and an older woman at the next table pointed at my boots. She said, 'My husband did floors for 40 years, and he always said good boots are the most important tool you own.' We talked for maybe ten minutes about the trade. It was just a small thing, but it felt good to be seen like that, you know? Has a random person ever said something that made you feel proud of the job?

What brand of boots do you swear by?

Swear by is a strong term for my beat up boots. I'm loyal to whatever brand is on sale and still in one piece. My feet have learned not to be picky.
