A wedding in Phoenix made me rethink how I pack flowers for delivery

I had a big order of peonies for an outdoor ceremony last month, and the heat just wrecked them in the back of my van. The bride's mom actually said, 'They look like they've been through the desert,' which was rough. Has anyone found a good cooler bag or trick for keeping delicate blooms crisp on a hot drive?

I started using insulated grocery bags with ice packs for each arrangement.

That "ice packs for each arrangement" idea is smart. I always thought the insulated bag alone was enough, but you've convinced me the extra step is worth it. It really does make a difference for delicate flowers.
