I finally tried using a 1/4 teaspoon of sugar in the vase water for my tulips last week.

They stood up straight for almost 5 days longer than usual, so has anyone else found a good trick for keeping specific blooms perky?

I read that a penny in the water works for some flowers too.

My grandma swore by the penny trick, but she also thought a nickel could fix a squeaky floorboard. I guess if your flowers start asking for their two cents, you'll know it's working.
