Just dropped $300 on a new cooler for deliveries and it's already paid for itself

I got a big order for a wedding last month, 15 centerpieces with really delicate peonies. My old cooler was struggling to keep a steady temp and I was worried about wilting. I bit the bullet and bought a high-end floral cooler with digital controls for about $300. The flowers stayed perfect for the two-day setup, and the bride was thrilled. I would have lost the whole order if those blooms had drooped. What's the one piece of gear you bought that saved your skin on a job?

My old van's AC died right before a huge July 4th picnic setup. Spent $450 on a portable battery powered fan unit. It was the only thing that kept the chocolate from melting into a puddle in the back during the two hour drive. That little fan saved about a thousand dollars worth of product. Sometimes the right tool is just a simple fix for a very specific problem.

What kind of fan costs $450 though? That seems like a lot for a battery unit, but I guess if it saved a grand in chocolate, it paid for itself twice over in one trip. Smart move not trying to fix the whole AC last minute.

and honestly @ross.kevin that's EXACTLY the kind of thinking that separates people who get stuff done from people who just complain. $450 feels like a lot for a fan until you realize it's basically an insurance policy against a thousand dollar disaster. I've been in similar spots where I tried to jury rig the whole system and ended up costing myself MORE time and money. Sometimes you just gotta accept the temporary fix and move on with your life. The fact that it saved the chocolate run means it already paid for itself in that ONE trip. Plus now you got a backup cooling option for next time the AC acts up which it probably will in an old van.
