Hot take: I just discovered 'natural flavor' in my orange juice can legally come from a fungus.
I was reading the FDA's definitions online last night and found out that a 'natural flavor' doesn't have to come from the food it's imitating, which explains why my 'fresh squeezed style' juice tastes the same year-round.
