I finally asked my friend what 'made with real fruit' meant on her kid's snacks and she just pointed at the tiny picture on the back.

Check the ingredients list, not the picture. That tiny picture is just marketing... the actual fruit content is usually in the fine print.

Remember that juice box with the huge strawberry on it? My friend's kid checked and it was like 5% actual fruit.

It's like what hugoc97 said, just another way we're sold a story instead of the real thing.
