Watching a crew pour a patio in my town and they skipped the broom finish step

Yeah, that term brings back some memories. I once did a rush job on some deck stairs where the risers were just a bit too high. Told myself it was fine, but I was sweating every time I drove past that house for a year.

My bullet journal got soaked on a camping trip in the Ozarks

A Leuchtturm AND a G2? My heart just broke.

Showerthought: I keep seeing people track habits with a simple checkmark and it misses the whole point.

Exactly! I used to just check off "gym" and call it a day, even on days I totally half-assed it. Now I jot a quick note like "felt slow, skipped legs" or "great energy, pushed hard." That tiny bit of context when I look back shows me what actually works versus what just fills a box. It turns a useless check into real data you can learn from.

Heads up about the trail to Lake Serene near Leavenworth

Yeah, the thing about maps not being updated is so real. My buddy Alex went out to that old logging road near Darrington last spring, the one that's supposed to connect to the Boulder River trail. His map said it was clear, but a giant landslide had taken out like a quarter mile of it years ago. He had to turn his whole truck around on this sketchy narrow spot, said it was pure luck he didn't go over the edge. It's crazy how they just leave that info out there.

Watching guys try to cut crown flat on a miter saw makes me want to scream

My buddy's dad paid a handyman to do his living room. Guy cut all the crown flat like @piper_burns said, same mess. Had to tear out a whole wall's worth. The worst part was he used nails that were way too big, split the molding everywhere. Left holes in the drywall too. Took us a whole weekend to fix it for free.
