Unpopular opinion: 'Made with real fruit' on those snack bars is a total joke

I checked the label on a box after my kid ate one, and the second ingredient is corn syrup. Has anyone found a brand that actually uses fruit first?

My kid's favorite ones list "fruit puree" third, right after two types of sugar. It's pure marketing because a tiny bit of apple paste lets them make that claim. You're better off just smearing some peanut butter on actual apple slices. The whole snack bar aisle is built on this kind of tricky wording.

Ugh, that line about "fruit puree" being third after two sugars is so real. It feels like you need a food science degree just to shop for a simple snack now. I spend way too much time squinting at those ingredient lists in the store aisle. It's exhausting trying to figure out what's actually okay to give them. What's the worst "healthy" label you've seen on something that's mostly junk?
