I used to take any client who would pay me... now I have a $5k minimum

After a year of chasing $500 gigs that burned me out, I set a hard rule last month. It forces me to find better projects and actually value my time. Anyone else set a floor like this and have it backfire at first?

Honestly, I was terrified of that too. I raised my rates last year and lost two regulars right away. But better clients showed up pretty quick, ones who actually respect your time. It was slow for maybe a month, then way better. You just gotta stick it out.
