My mentor in Chicago told me to never take a project under $500.

He said it would attract bad clients and waste my time. I ignored him for a year, took a bunch of $200 gigs, and got burned by three clients who demanded endless revisions. Now I'm raising my rates and it's already filtering out the worst requests. Has anyone else found a specific price floor that changed their client quality?

Honestly, is it really that big of a deal though? Tbh most things people make a fuss about aren't.

Why do we waste so much energy on stuff that won't matter next week?
