Warning: My app frenzy was eating up all my billable hours

I jumped on every shiny new tool for freelancers, convinced it would boost my output. Found myself in a setup loop instead of doing client work. Cut back to the basics and suddenly I'm meeting deadlines again.

Tools are just noise if you don't use them right. Spending all day setting up apps kills productivity. Basics always win.

My old phone had 20 productivity apps I never opened. Took me months to see they just made things more complicated. Now I get what @bennett.riley means, basics do work better.

Sometimes the right tool really does change the game though. Bennett.riley has a point about basics, but what if someone actually needs more than a basic list? A good app can set up a system that works for you without constant fuss. It's not about having twenty apps, it's about finding the one or two that actually fit how your brain works. Blanket statements about basics winning ignore the people who need a bit more structure to get things done.
