Just read that shellac flakes can lose their potency after 6 months if stored wrong
Found it in an old trade journal from the 90s my boss gave me. I've been keeping mine in the garage for years, no wonder my last few mixes were so weak. How do you all store your shellac to keep it fresh?

Doubt that's true. My garage-stored flakes still work fine after years.

Seriously? I guess some garages are just built different. Mine turns into a swamp every summer and anything cardboard gets wrecked. I had to move all my stuff into big plastic bins with those silica gel packs tossed in. That finally did the trick for me.
