My partly sunny garden spot is doing better than expected

Many gardeners swear you need full sun for a good harvest. I set up my raised beds in a corner that only gets morning light. My arugula and mint are growing like crazy, and I'm getting fresh picks every few days. Maybe we put too much stress on perfect sun conditions.

Seriously? Mine gets so big I have to tell it to chill out. What are you growing that's so picky about light?

My friend tried growing basil on a windowsill that only got afternoon sun. The thing grew all weird and leggy, like it was stretching for something it couldn't find. She moved it to a morning spot and it finally filled out like a proper plant.
