Can we talk about how Gen Z thinks side parts are a crime

My 17 year old cousin literally told me my hair was 'giving millennial' because I have a side part, and she said it with a straight face like she was reporting a felony. I've had this part since I was 12 and it works for my face shape, but she acts like it's a historical artifact. Do we really need to gatekeep HAIR now?

Side parts have been around for decades because they work for a lot of people. It's just hair, not a moral failing. Why should anyone feel bad about a style that makes them feel good? Trends come and go, but personal preference is what actually matters.

Used to think side parts were dated but you're right, it's just hair and people should wear what they like.

Totally agree with taking it further. It's wild how much pressure there is to follow a trend that might not even suit your face shape or hair type. Saw a video where someone called a middle part "the only correct way" and honestly that kind of gatekeeping is so tired. The goal should be feeling good when you look in the mirror, not pleasing some random style council on the internet. These rules just exist to make people buy new products and feel insecure. Wear the part, or no part, that makes you happy.
