Showerthought: I had to pick between a flip phone and a smartphone for my kid

I went with the flip phone because I'm a millennial who remembers life before being online 24/7. My Gen Z nephew called it 'a sad brick' and I realized our whole fight is about access versus constant connection. Anyone else make a choice that totally highlighted the generational gap?

Oh man, my friend's kid called her old iPod a weird plastic rectangle.

My nephew found my old Walkman and asked why I had a lunchbox with headphones. It's wild how fast tech changes. My first cell phone was a brick with an antenna you had to pull out. Now kids see anything without a touchscreen as a museum piece.

Hah, my cousin's kid tried to swipe her old flip phone like a screen!
