I used to scoff at screen repairs until my daughter's tablet tutorial helped me out
For years, I told my kids that looking things up on screens was a crutch. When my car radio died, my usual move was to order a part and spend hours with a manual. My daughter saw me struggling and said she could find a video. I almost said no, thinking it was a waste of time. She pulled up a short clip showing how to reset the fuse box for my exact model. We did it together in five minutes, and the radio came back on. That little win with her phone showed me their way isn't always the easy way out. Sometimes it's just smarter, and I was wrong to dismiss it.

Calling screen help a crutch misses the point, as @troylane showed with his water heater fix. It's about using info to solve problems, not being lazy. My daughter's tablet tutorial taught me more than a manual ever could. The step-by-step video made it clear and fast. Now I see these tools as smart, not easy outs. We all need to adapt and learn from them.

Yeah, I used to be the same way until my water heater went out. I found a step-by-step video that saved me a HUGE repair bill. Now I check for tutorials FIRST before even thinking about calling a pro. It's not about being lazy, it's about using the tools we have. Kids these days are onto something with their phone fixes.
