I finally understood my neighbor's worry about gene-edited corn after a talk at the county fair.
He said 'You can't put that genie back in the bottle if something goes wrong,' which made me switch from just thinking about yields to considering long-term soil impact. Has anyone else had a simple comment shift their view on a GMO topic?

Funny how a county fair talk can do more than years of news debates. Guess we all need someone to point out the obvious genie problem, right? Stop overthinking your soil, man. Grab a cheap test kit from the hardware store before you start mixing weird stuff in. I've seen guys dump a whole bag of lime because they "felt" the soil was sour, then they killed everything. The numbers don't lie, and it takes like ten minutes. Your neighbor's right, keep it simple.
