PSA: My kid's school science fair changed my mind on GMO labeling
At the Oakridge Elementary science fair last month, my 10-year-old did a project on golden rice. She had to explain to other parents why it was made, and I watched three people walk away saying 'it's still Frankenfood.' They didn't listen to the part about preventing childhood blindness. Now I don't just support the science, I think we need way better public info at the grocery store. How do you even start to fix that kind of deep-seated fear?

Man, that's so frustrating to hear. Watching people shut down like that, especially when a kid is trying to explain something so important... it hits different. That fear is so deep, it feels like facts just bounce right off. I wonder if the labels we have now just make it worse, you know? They treat it like a warning instead of a tool.

The "warning label" thing is exactly why my aunt won't read food packages.

Yeah, @the_morgan, facts just bounce right off a brick wall.
