But have you considered how gym machines ensure consistent workouts regardless of weather? Indoor training eliminates variables like rain or uneven terrain that can disrupt progress, and for some, that controlled environment @willow256 finds monotonous actually fosters better focus and measurable results!

Last Tuesday on my run, I literally high-fived one of the regular dog walkers. Jamie_moore has a point about consistency, but you can't buy that kind of morning energy. The treadmill just doesn't give you stories to tell.
