Getting ready to pull the trigger on a tuner and some bolt-ons for my rig. I've narrowed it down to Livernois and 5 Star Tuning. Both seem to have huge followings, but I don't want to blow my engine or deal with constant check engine lights. Anyone run either of these setups long-term? Pros and cons?

Go with 5 Star Tuning hands down. Because they use standard SCT/Bully Dog devices, you aren't locked into a closed ecosystem. Plus, their optional warranty plans give serious peace of mind. I've been running their 93 performance/tow tune for over 30k miles without a single hiccup.

Exactly this. I got a package deal from 5 Star with an intake and the tunes. The truck wakes up so much, especially in the mid-range RPMs where you actually need it for daily driving. Highly recommend them over anyone else right now.

I've had a Livernois tune. It was pretty solid and the power gains were definitely noticeable, but I really didn't like being locked into their proprietary tuning device. It makes it hard to switch things up later if you ever decide you want to try different custom tuners.
