inTIL I had to pick between a Klein crimper and a cheap generic one for a big apartment complex job in Tempe.
It's like that with a lot of stuff, you get what you pay for. @anna_stone45 gets it, the good tools just fade into the background because they never let you down.

inBought a cheap travel kettle for my trip to Edinburgh and it was a total waste
That "save money on tea and coffee" idea is the real trap. You end up buying gear for a trip you could just enjoy. I always skip the kettle and find a local cafe instead, which feels more like the trip.

inVent: I trimmed a quarter horse's feet flat for years until a vet in Boise pointed out the palmar angle was way off.
Oh man, a one size fits all trim is like saying all horses wear the same size shoe. That vet in Boise probably saw that poor horse landing like @quinn_wood said, but with the force of a wrecking ball. Trimming flat for years without a second thought is how you end up with a real problem hiding in plain sight. It might look clean, but it's lazy and ignores everything going on inside the hoof. You gotta look at the whole horse, not just the bottom of its foot.

inRant: My barista friend in Portland told me I was overthinking my pour-over technique and to just focus on the water being hot enough, which honestly fixed my morning brew after months of inconsistent cups.
Honestly, same with my old French press filter.

inPro tip: I swapped to a 5W-40 synthetic in an old 7.3 Powerstroke and it got louder
That's just the injectors cleaning up, not the oil weight.
