From my cellar tastings, the silence on organic certifications in reviews is puzzling.

Why do we dissect aroma and finish but ignore how the grapes were grown?

Isn't it bizarre that wine critics will write paragraphs about minerality but glaze over whether pesticides were used? I've tasted bottles from vineyards that switched to organic, and the difference in vibrancy is stark. Take those Sauvignon Blancs from New Zealand, for example. When they're grown without synthetic inputs, the acidity feels more alive, not just sharp. Yet most reviews just call it 'crisp' and move on. Shouldn't how a wine is grown be part of its story?

You're naming the exact disconnect that drives me nuts.

I just looked up some of those New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs you mentioned, @taylor.jenny, and the price jump for the organic ones is wild. It's crazy they charge that much without critics even explaining what makes it different. I mean, if you're paying for the story, they should actually tell it.
