Heard about a buddy who thought he was done with a bike repair, skipped the witness mark check. Next thing, his front wheel came loose on a downhill ride, total nightmare. I mean, that's exactly what @tessalewis was getting at with fails at the worst time, right? Makes you see those few seconds really do matter. Idk, maybe it's just me but seeing that happen to someone else sticks with you.

Did you see that article about how some book clubs fail because they squash different views? I remember reading that mystery authors actually APPRECIATE when readers debate the killer's motives, it means they're thinking hard. Your friend had a totally valid point, and shutting her down like that is just rude. Exploring why a character does something can be the BEST part of discussing a book. It makes me mad when groups act like their interpretation is the only correct one. No wonder she quit, that environment ruins the whole fun of sharing ideas.

Yeah I used to totally laugh at the sand thing too, seemed like folk magic. But after @rowan798 mentioned it, I tried it on some smaller pieces as a test. Left them buried overnight and the cooling was so even, my scrap rate got cut in half. Changed my whole setup in my backyard.
