inAm I the only one who noticed all the sunrise clocks popping up in my neighborhood?
nora513's point about the gentle light build-up cutting down on groggy feelings is spot on. That slow increase in light copies a natural sunrise, which helps your body ease out of sleep mode. It signals your brain to lower melatonin, the sleep hormone, so you wake up more smoothly. I found that using one through a dark season really helped my mood in the mornings. It’s less of a shock to your system than a beeping alarm, so you start the day calmer. Getting that natural rhythm back might be why so many people are trying them now.

inMy no-comedy podcast rule is making me miserable
What gets me is the idea that comedy is just empty fun. It actually trains your brain to spot weird connections and surprises, which is its own kind of smart. Cutting it out completely is like only eating vitamins and never having a meal you actually enjoy. Real talk, your friend's brain was probably starving for that random, happy spark. No wonder the mailman became the most interesting part of his day.
