My buddy's new camping stove failed on our trip, and now I'm stuck on how to review it.

Did he even test this thing himself before selling it?

PSA: My foreman on a hospital job in Baltimore said 'a good electrician makes it look easy, but a great one makes it look like they were never there' and I'm still debating which is the real goal.

Journeymen always have the best takes, it's basically a law of nature.

Just hit 500 hours on my current job site without a single lost time incident.

See this everywhere now, not just in plants. People hit a green light streak driving home and stop checking the cross street. A team wins a few games and forgets the basics. That number on the board tricks the mind into feeling safe, like the past success builds a shield. It makes the routine steps feel pointless right up until they're the only thing that matters.

A gadget maker offered me a gift card to delete my bad review.

Yeah, it really does kill the whole point. I mean, now I just assume any product with only glowing reviews is probably paying for them. Maybe we should all just start reviewing the reviews themselves. One star, this five-star rating seems fake and desperate.

Showerthought: Old-timers would hand-rub finishes for days

Yeah, that "different kind of depth" thing is real. I mean, I tried to fix a scratch on my granddad's old dresser with a wipe-on poly once. It just sat on top, looked like plastic. The original shellac soaked right in, made the wood look alive. Totally get what you mean.
