My friend in Portland used an AI to 'fix' my painting and I'm still mad about it

I spent three months on this acrylic landscape of Mount Hood, and he ran it through some app without asking. It smoothed out all my brushstrokes and made the colors weirdly perfect. He said it looked 'more professional' now, but it just feels like my hand was erased from my own work. Has anyone else had their art 'improved' by AI without their consent?

Ugh, that's so out of line. My cousin did the same thing to a photo I took, saying the AI made the lighting better. It just made it look like a generic stock image and killed the mood. Taking the person out of the art is the whole problem.

Zara_kelly27, I get where you're coming from, but I see tools a bit differently. My grandson helped me fix the colors in a sunset picture I took last year. It was too dark on my phone. The AI just brought back what was already there in real life. It didn't change my memory of the moment, it just helped others see it. Sometimes it's less about taking the person out and more about helping the art reach people.

Honestly, I used to think those filters were neat. But hearing this? That's just disrespectful to your time and your vision.
