My gallery in Portland just got a submission that was clearly AI, and it's forcing a rule change I never wanted to make.

We used to judge entries solely on the final image, but after that submission, we now require artists to document their process from initial sketch to final piece, a policy shift that feels like we're policing creativity instead of celebrating it.

But is it really the tech making us add steps? I feel like it's more about people trying to pass off AI work as their own skill. That's what forces galleries and employers to react.

It's a shame how often new tech makes us add extra steps just to prove we're human. We're seeing it everywhere now, from online forms to job applications. The need for constant proof of authenticity is starting to feel like its own kind of cage.

Wait, job apps make you prove you're human now?
