Unpopular opinion: AI art is just a tool, not a replacement for real artists
Last week I saw a video of a guy who typed in "cat in a spaceship" and got a perfect painting in 10 seconds. My neighbor who paints for a living took it personally, said it devalues her work. But then I watched her spend 3 hours mixing the wrong shade of blue last month, and I wonder if she's just scared of change. 3 years ago I was a graphic designer who thought AI would kill my job, but now I use it for rough drafts and it saves me like 6 hours a week. Is it really that different from using a camera instead of a brush? Has anyone else had a traditional artist friend flip out on them over this?

Wait, three hours mixing the wrong blue? That's wild.

Oh man, I gotta disagree with you there... three hours of mixing the wrong shade is just part of the learning curve in my book. You can't really know what works until you mess up a few times, and that kind of time spent teaches you more than any tutorial. If anything, it's time well wasted.
