AI hiring tool flagged my resume for 'too many job hops' and I laughed
Read a report from a staffing firm in Austin that found 38% of resumes get auto-rejected for gaps over 6 months, even when the reasons are legit like caregiving. My own resume has three such gaps from moving states, and that algorithm would've binned me without blinking. Anyone else feel like these tools punish normal life instead of judging actual skill?

Those gaps from moving states are not a red flag on you, that is just real life getting in the way. A machine counting months cannot tell the difference between someone bouncing around and someone who had to take care of family or pack up and move. It is a lazy way to screen people and it throws out good workers before a human ever gets a look.
