One response to my anime reaction videos made me scrap the noise

I used to add constant over-the-top commentary to every episode I reviewed, but a subscriber in Detroit basically said my hot takes were drowning the actual show. Now I watch the scene raw, pause, then give my take in a separate clip. It felt weird for the first week, but my watch time went up by like 30%. Has anyone else cut their commentary way back based on one critical comment?

That's not proof the comment was right, that's just proof people click on different things sometimes. Maybe your editing got tighter, maybe the algorithm shifted, maybe it's just a random Tuesday. I'm not saying commentary is the answer for everyone, but acting like one dude in Detroit cracked the code on content creation is a stretch. If a single comment can flip your whole style that fast, makes me wonder how solid your original approach really was in the first place.
