Serious question, does dragging out anime adaptations from manga help or just annoy fans?

I've been following this one series for two years, and they're still not done with the arc. Some people like the slow pace because it adds detail, but others say it just pads runtime and tests patience. Where do you stand on stretched-out anime versions?

That Naruto flashback was filler, not padding the main arc.

Reminds me of that one Bleach filler arc with the samurai kids. Felt like it lasted a whole year. They introduced a whole new world that never mattered again. I just wanted to get back to the main story. That's when I started reading the manga instead.

Watching these never-ending arcs is a special kind of torture I signed up for, apparently. The padding gets obvious when every reaction shot lasts ten seconds. Remember that time in Naruto when they flashed back to the same scene for the tenth time? Yeah, that's when I question my life choices.
