Sketching after watching 'Barakamon' gave my art a new focus

I saw how the anime finds beauty in simple, everyday tasks. It clicked that I was always trying to draw grand scenes, missing the small stuff. Now I draw things like my messy desk or the way light hits my plants. Do you find anime inspires your creative work?

How do you make a drawing feel real without the mess? Yeah, I totally add clutter on purpose. My last sketch had a coffee cup stain and a pile of loose pens. It just looks more like my actual desk that way.

Ha! I tried that once but my desk is so messy I couldn't even find a clear spot to put my sketchbook down...
