I swore by analog testers until last year's heatwave

Thought they were more reliable than digital ones... but a tricky compressor diagnosis changed my mind for good.

Wait, you thought analog testers were more reliable? That's interesting lol. I used to think the same until I realized digital ones can catch those tiny pressure changes way easier, especially when things get weird like with your compressor. For tricky stuff, having exact numbers staring back at you just makes it simpler to figure out the real problem. That heatwave situation is exactly why a lot of guys are switching over for good.

So you need a computer to tell you a compressor's busted?

My old instructor at the trade school in Toledo always said a good analog gauge never lies. He was right, until you're squinting at a needle bouncing between lines in hundred degree heat. I read a piece in Contracting Business magazine last year that showed digital tools cut diagnostic time by almost half on intermittent faults. That sealed it for me. Now the analog set stays in the truck as a backup.
