inTried a cheap 3M knockoff for seam sealer and it was a total mess
My buddy used that exact same generic tube from O'Reilly on his Tacoma bed seam and it's been solid for over a year. Sometimes you just get a bad batch or the surface wasn't prepped right. The 3M stuff can fail too if the metal isn't perfectly clean. I've saved a ton of money over the years using store brand sealers on small jobs and most of them work just fine.

inHeard a client say she 'doesn't trust anyone with fine hair' to cut it
My stylist in Chicago swears by shears for my fine hair, @black.val. She says a razor can cause way more breakage and split ends over time. A good point cut with shears removes weight without leaving it looking choppy. You get movement without that damaged, frizzy texture a razor can create.

inVent: I still use a 3rd hand tool for housing installs, even after a shop in Boulder told me it was 'old school' last month.
Yeah, it was standard Shimano housing. The shop definitely cut corners by not using a proper cable end cap.

inWarning: I almost signed off on a sketchy panel upgrade today...
My cousin's neighbor in Toledo had a Federal Pacific panel that never tripped. Their dryer shorted, the wires in the wall got hot enough to start smoking, and they were minutes from a real fire. That "small risk" is someone's whole house and family. The electrician was right to walk away.
