Just hit 1000 fridge compressor swaps in my log book
I was adding up my service calls from the last quarter and the total hit 1000 exactly. It took me eight years to get there, starting with my first solo job on a 2015 Whirlpool side-by-side. The weird part is I never thought I'd keep count, but seeing that number in my own handwriting felt solid. Anyone else track their specific repair numbers like that?

My buddy who does transmission work has a chalkboard in his shop. He puts a mark on it for every rebuild. Last year he filled the whole thing and had to start a new one. He said it was the only way the work felt real, like he wasn't just spinning his wheels. Seeing that physical proof of all those jobs, it got to him. He just stood there for a minute when he finished the board.

Try a whiteboard instead, chalk dust gets in everything.

We did something similar with a wall calendar at my old shop. Crossed off each finished job with a red pen. That visual tally at the end of the month shut up that voice saying you did nothing all day.
