Remember when we all climbed on spurs for a simple prune?
Back in the early 2000s, my first boss in Tacoma had us spur up a 40-foot maple for a basic crown clean. Now, I use a lift for anything over 25 feet if the site allows. The change came around 2015 for me, after seeing too many guys with knee and back issues. Anyone else make that switch, and how did you convince the old-timers it was worth the rental cost?

Switched years ago. My back is worth more than a few bucks. The old crew grumbled but they got it after a clean, fast job.

Good point about the back, @butler.abby. A lot of folks forget that the cheap stuff can cost you more later. I saw a guy use a bargain brand for a deck job and the sprayer clogged every hour. He lost a whole day fixing it. Spending a bit more on reliable gear saves time and pain.
