Had to pick between a 4-day work week or a 10% raise at my last job review
My boss gave me the option last quarter: more money or an extra day off each week. I went with the extra day, thinking I'd just relax. It's been 3 months and I'm way more productive in my 4 days than I ever was in 5. Has anyone else taken a schedule change over cash and how did it work out?

It's funny how time off can actually make work feel less like a grind.

Yeah, it's like our brains need that reset button. I see it with my friends too, @grace_white. One comes back from a camping trip and suddenly their normal desk job feels fresh for a week. It's not about the work changing, it's about your mind getting a break from the same old loop. Makes you wonder why we don't build in more small breaks on purpose.

I forced myself to take a walk every afternoon and it totally broke that loop.
