My last customer insisted underlayment for laminate is a waste. I told him it prevents noise and damage. Who's got the better argument?

Hearing that underlayment is a waste reminds me of my friend's mistake. She skipped it to save money and her floors got noisy and damaged fast. Now she always uses it and says it's worth it!

Skimping on underlayment is such a bad call. It's not just about noise, it's about protecting your whole floor. That friend's story proves it's a dumb shortcut. The small upfront cost saves you from huge headaches later. Anyone saying to skip it hasn't dealt with the messed up results. Always worth it, pays off every time.
