Lost a full night of comet shots to a loose tripod head
Camped out near Marfa, Texas last month waiting for C/2023 A3, and the whole 4 hour sequence came out as star trails because the quick release plate shifted during the first exposure. I only caught it when I checked the preview at 3am, way too late to reset and reshoot. Anyone else double check the plate screws before every frame, or am I just paranoid now?

That hurts, man. Tightening that plate is now a habit for me too.
